A WOMAN who “lives simply” has revealed how she makes her house free from “visual clutter”.

But Benita Larsson’s practice has divided opinion and even left people questioning what visual clutter actually is.

Larsson has divided opinion on how she “reduces visual clutter”

She recently shared a video that left lots of people questioning what visual clutter actually is

According to homemaker Erin at The Tannehill Homestead, “visual clutter is the everyday things left on countertops and shelves”.

She added: “It’s decor you use all-around your home, knick-knacks in abundance for all to see, unorganised spaces, and even overstuffed drawers.

“Visual clutter happens when the visible items you see every day become invisible in the terms of clutter.

“You believe your home can never become tidy, but in reality, you just need to reduce your visual clutter.”

Scandinavian interior expert Larsson has caused a social media controversy by showing how she reduces visual clutter.

She takes colourful labels off bottles and tins to make them blend into her home better.

Larsson demonstrated her doing so on a bottle of dry shampoo in a recent TikTok video.

However, critics have said she is “playing russian roulette” with her products.

One said: “Do not remove off cleaning products.

“If it’s somehow ingested by a child, animal or whoever, you will need the label.”

Larsson clapped back: “If you have kids or pets that can access your things, you should definitely keep the labels on.”

Another critic penned: “Easy, just don’t know what you are spraying on yourself.”

A third commented: “It’s almost like they’re trying to tell you what’s in the bottle.”

However, some people loved the idea and thought it was great to reduce overstimulation.

One supporter said: “This is so amazing for when you’re overstimulated by too many visual things.”

Another added: “I call it visual noise and I can’t stand it.

“That’s why everything is in a box, in a drawer or in a closet.”
