The One Show’s Alex Jones reveals she was ‘turfed out’ of The Chelsea Flower Show for being a ‘roughian’
ALEX Jones has revealed she was “turfed out” of the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show after being considered a “roughian”.
The One Show host, 46, told viewers she had been shown the door at 3pm while enjoying a VIP visit to the famous Royal Horticultural Society event.
Flower Show bosses then booted out Alex and her fellow celebs and special guests ahead of the arrival of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Alex’s revelation came has her co-host Roman Kemp opened Monday evening’s episode of The One Show with footage of the monarch and his wife at the event.
He said: “Now just a couple of hours ago, King Charles and Queen Camilla visited the RHS Chelsea Flower Show ahead of its official opening tomorrow.
“Al, you were there a little earlier weren’t you?”
Alex, who was wearing a stunning floral dress, replied: “Oh I was and had the best time. I mean, the Chelsea Flower Show is always so brilliant.
“But you have to go at three o’clock. You have to leave.
“Roughians are turfed out, you see, ahead of the royal visit.”
Laughing, 30-year-old Roman told Alex: “At least it’s the good turfed out!”
Alex had been snapped admiring the plants and flowers during her visit to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Clutching a glass of champagne at the event’s VIP preview, she wore another floral dress and carried cute greenhouse bag on her arm.
The telly presenter wasn’t the only familiar face invited, either.
Great British Bake Off star Laura Adlington was all smiles as she wandered around the preview event before also being ‘turfed out’ for the King and Queen.
The blonde baker and GBBO runner up, 32, opted for a floral dress in keeping to the flower theme, and wore her blonde hair to one side in loose curls.
Other celebrities spotted looking around included DJ Vick Hope, Good Morning Britain star Charlotte Hawkins, singer Will Young and broadcaster Vanessa Feltz.
