Naga Munchetty missing from BBC Breakfast after revealing chronic health battle that leaves her ‘screaming in pain’
NAGA Munchetty was missing from this morning’s BBC Breakfast after revealing her chronic health battle.
The flagship programme aired as normal as Charlie Stayt brought viewers the latest news.
He was joined by a stand-in co-host as Naga was absent from the red sofa.
BBC journalist Tina Daheley brought glam to the show this morning as she joined Charlie, 60.
No explanation was given for Naga’s non appearance although the anchor has been missing shows recently.
She typically presents with Charlie on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
It comes after Naga spoke about the ‘chronic pain’ she experiences.
She has gone public with her condition after her husband was forced to call an ambulance over the weekend as a result of a severe flare-up.
Naga said yesterday of her heartbreaking ordeal: “The pain was so terrible I couldn’t move, turn over, sit up. I screamed non-stop for 45 minutes.”
The womb condition is known as adenomyosis and is thought to affect around one in every 10 women but is often undiagnosed.
Speaking about her level of discomfort, Naga told listeners: “Right now as I sit here talking to you, I am in pain. Constant, nagging pain.
“In my uterus. Around my pelvis. Sometimes it runs down my thighs.
“And I’ll have some level of pain for the entire show and for the rest of the day until I go to sleep.”
BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One and iPlayer.
