I was bored of my kitchen so decided to transform it by copying a strawberry pattern – they’re ‘ugly’ but I love it
A WOMAN has unveiled her kitchen makeover after deciding to brighten up her boring walls with a bold print.
Chelsea revealed she’d grown tired of her drab, beige walls that she said made the room in her home look “depressing.”
So the creative 32-year-old, who lives in New York City, got her paintbrush out and copied the “ugly” strawberry print on the back of her phone case.
And while she was worried about how it would turn out, everyone’s in agreement that it was a sweet idea.
Chelsea, who shared the home makeover on her TikTok account @chelseazeferina, explained: “48 hours ago I decided that I was going to paint strawberries on my kitchen wall and this is how it went.
She then explained she’d gone to her local DIY store late one night to pick out different shades.
This included a light pink background colour, and red and greens to paint the fruit pattern.
After painting for a couple of hours that evening, she got straight to work the following morning, applying the pink base, before getting to the fun part.
She continued to her 54.1k social media followers: “I took inspiration from my phone case.
“These were the kind of strawberries I wanted to draw – kind of intentionally ugly so that if they turned out bad they were supposed to look like that.”
But as soon as she started out, Chelsea said she knew she was onto a winner.
Zooming in on the first strawberry she painted, she said: “This is when I started to get really excited.
“I was like, ‘this is going to look so good.’”
She added that after hours of decorating and adding the finishing touches, her body was in pain, but she couldn’t be happier with the results.
The American woman concluded: “It was all worth it – look at how cute it looks!”
She then asked her followers whether she should add even more of the red fruit to her walls.
And it wasn’t long before Chelsea was met with a huge number of compliments on her kitchen makeover, as everyone told her they loved it.
One TikTok user said: “More strawberries! So good!”
Another wrote: “Omg so adorable, I love it.”
Meanwhile, a third added: “So cute!”
