The event in London was to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the charity Music in Secondary Schools Trust.

MiSST works with UK schools to help children from Year 7 to Year 9 learn instruments.

Its Andrew Lloyd Webber programme has given tens of thousands of children across the country a musical education they may not have had otherwise.

Concertgoers were treated to a performance of Any Dream Will Do from the musical Joseph with a special guest appearance from Jason Donovan, who dominated the role in the 90s.

The event, held at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, included music by classical, jazz and film composers.

It included more than 250 students from around the country picked by their schools to represent the MiSST programme.

Andrew, 75, joined the students on stage for a performance and gave a rousing speech about the importance of classical music.

All of the money raised on the night goes to supporting MiSST partner schools on the Andrew Lloyd Webber programme.
