Fashion fans are going wild for River Island’s slingback Chanel dupes that are almost identical but £837 cheaper

AN increasing number of high-street stores are flogging designer dupes for a fraction of the cost.

And if you’ve got designer taste but not the bank balance to match, then it may be worth taking a trip to your nearest River Island.

That’s because the high-street store has sent fashion fans into a frenzy after launching a pair of shoes that look almost identical to the popular Chanel ‘Goatskin & Grosgrain Sling-Back heels.’

Both shoes have a similar design – with block heel, beige colour and black toe – but with one main difference…the price tag.

While the Chanel ones will set you back a whopping £870, the replica version are priced at just £33, meaning a very impressive saving of £830.

River Island’s ‘beige heeled slingback shoes’ feature a slingback design, are made from faux leather and have a RI monogram hardware.

They also come in four different colours – including all-black, silver and white.

In contrast, the designer Chanel pair comes in beige and black, or all black, are made from real leather and have the classic double C logo on the heel.

And it’s not the first time River Island have sent shoppers into meltdown over designer dupes.

With its distinctive heart motif, metallic logo and detached shoulder strap, there’s no denying River Island’s ‘white patent heart cross body bag’ looks very similar to Vivienne Westwood‘s ‘Louise heart cross body bag.

But the luxury label’s bag will set you back a £310, meaning that at just £35, the high-street version is a whopping £275 cheaper.
