I’m a cleaning expert & there are five tricks that’ll get your BBQ summer-ready in no time
A CLEANING expert has shared the five barbecue tricks you should know to be summer-ready.
Nicole Keshishian Modic shared the simple hacks, and there are no pricey products involved.
Melt an ice cube over your tasty burgers[/caption]First of all, when it comes to preparing your barbecue, you should avoid wire bristle brushes and use a trusty onion instead.
Simply cut the union in half and rub it onto the hot grill using a long fork to lift the dirt and grime.
“Not only is it much safer, you’ll have a clean grill thanks to the onion’s natural juices combined with the steam,” Nicole explained.
Next up, if your cooking skills aren’t quite up to par, try placing a cube of ice onto your burgers as they cook.
The ice will melt into the meat, leaving your burger perfectly juicy with zero effort involved.
If you struggle with food sticking to your grill, try rubbing a potato on the metal racks to make it non-stick.
Just cut a spud in half and rub onto the racks before cooking.
“In about a minute the grill will be non-stick thanks to the starches in the potato,” the pro explained.
And if you really want to impress your guests, Nicole shared a trick for barbecuing fish as well.
She suggested laying the fish on top of slices lemon instead of directly on the grill.
She said: “This adds so much flavour and your fish won’t stick.”
skewers can often burn over hot barbecues, which is why the pro recommended always soaking them in water for “at least 30 minutes before using them.”
Finally, use the skewers to cook batches of meat together – you can flip everything at the same time if it’s skewered together, so nothing will get burnt.
