I was a struggling single mum living on just £60-a-week – I went on Rich House Poor House and it totally changed my life
A SINGLE mum broke down in tears on last night’s episode of Rich House Poor House, as she was given a “life changing” career opportunity by a millionaire couple.
As well as having her debts paid off, she was offered paid-for courses for her dream profession, as well as assistance to make her career hopes a reality.
The young mum, named Natalee, who lives on £60 a week, got candid about her hopes to earn more money and to start up her own nail business, to give her young daughter Ava the best in life.
But without the necessary training, Natalee feared that she wouldn’t make it happen due to the costs of the courses as well as the products she would need.
Whilst working part-time at a petrol garage and trying to get her business off the ground, Natalee revealed there were times where she and Ava had no money, and she could not pay her bills.
She also explained that she’d taken out a loan for business related items, but was now in debt to pay it back with the interest increasing the monthly costs, leaving her struggling.
In the episode of Rich House Poor House, we saw Natalee switch places with wealthy couple, the Singhs, who run a thriving cosmetics clinic.
They immediately sympathised with Natalee and her hopes to achieve her business goals.
In the programme, the families swapped houses and lives for a week, as well as budgets.
The couple shared how growing up, they and their parents had very little and while they are wealthy now, they wanted their children to value what they had.
As the week went on, Dr Rashpal Singh and his wife Kiran expressed a desire to help Natalee with her debts.
They soon sought ways to help her achieve her dream work with her own nail business.
After getting an idea of her weekly life, from her budget to her business plans, the couple sought advice from local nail art specialists before offering the single mother a life-changing opportunity – but that wasn’t all.
Later in the show, Natalee met the couple for the first time and was left in tears as they declared they’d cleared the debt she owed from the loan.
Wanting to help her further her nail career, they then told her they would pay for her to have courses for nail and nail art.
In emotional scenes, Natalee told the pair that they had changed her life.
The couple explained that they had also got her an opportunity to work with someone local to her, who had over 20 years experience in the field.
It could lead to substantial paid work, they revealed, with Natalee saying: “This is gonna completely change my life.
“I’m more than grateful.”
Rich House Poor House continues next Sunday at 9PM on Channel 5.
