ITV’s Sitting on a Fortune viewers rage ‘time to switch off’ as Gary Lineker show returns
ITV viewers were all left with the same complaint as Gary Lineker’s high-stakes game show, Sitting on a Fortune, returned.
The programme fronted by Gary sees contestants line-up in a row of chairs one behind the other.
In a chance to win some money, contestants must find themselves seated in the very first chair.
However, with sitting in the chair comes pressure, as they are forced to answer a question.
A correct answer will win them cash but an incorrect answer can send them all the way to the back, where they risk being kicked off the show for good.
However, despite Gary smiling on through the show, it seemed some fans had already had enough as they said it was time ‘to turn off’.
Jacqui, Garren, Anika, Susanne, Rob, and Julian were the hopefuls on the comeback episode, all hoping to take home £100,000.
One viewer was quick to slam the return of the show as they penned: “Never underestimate #ITV… when you thought things could not be any worse following the #ThisMorning debacle they heap more misery upon their viewers by bringing back #SittingOnAFortune with Mr no-personality Lineker.” [sic]
Another quickly followed-up: “Seen 10 minutes of this and no more. ITV is “sitting on” a load of c**p. #sittingonafortune.” [sic]
A third added: “#sittingonafortune I can’t watch this with that presenting.”
While a fourth raged: “Time to turn off #sittingonafortune.”
Before one branded the quiz show ‘awful’, saying: “First time watching this. Good god, it’s awful.”
Contender Rob was the lucky hopeful on the show as he walked away with a £50,000 jackpot after ending up in the front seat.
Gary began hosting the show in 2021.
It has included both regular editions as well as a celebrity Christmas special which was won by actress Nina Wadia.
