I hated my run-down garden so gave it a mega glow up on a budget… I even managed posh seating and a whole new patio
A PAIR of DIY pros were sick of their bog-standard garden so decided to give it a bargain refresh – and even built themselves a brand-new patio.
Like many of us, Jesse and Kay were keen to make an outdoor haven to enjoy during the warmer summer months.
But despite treating their lawn and giving their garden furniture a jet wash, it still wasn’t exactly what they wanted.
So the pair decided to give it a bargain glow-up for just £160 – and people can’t believe how professional it looks.
Sharing a glimpse of their backyard before, the pair said: “Backyard refresh.”
Their small square garden had been split into two sections, the back half covered in patchy green grass.
The front acted as a small patio, made up of grey concrete panels and multicolored pebbles.
On top of this was a four-seated dining set, while to the left sat a small bench on top of an outdoor rug, covering a particularly muddy section of their lawn.
As part of their budget glow-up, the pair first started by removing all the weeds by hand, before tackling the aging flower beds and borders.
They then went on to remove a section of the patchy lawn to make way for their new, larger patio area.
After laying a weed barrier to stop the pesky plants from growing through, they covered the entire section in white pebbles to give it a fresh, modern look.
Once swept into place, they cleaned up their existing furniture before moving it back into place.
Shoppers can pick up similar white rounded pebbles from various retailers, including Wilko and The Range, with prices starting at just £1.
Weed barriers are also available to buy online, with Amazon and B&Q pricing them for as little as £3.95.
Fans loved her DIY makeover, with the transformation gaining more than 11,600 likes and 436,100 views.
Known online as @jesseandkay, the pair regularly share life updates and home renovation tips with their 2,200 followers.
In the comments, TikTokkers shared their reactions, with one writing: “Such a beautiful update to your yard.”
“New goal this month,” commented another.
A third put: “You did this right!”
Although not all were convinced, with another adding: “I love this, but what happens in heavy rain?”
Jesse replied: “It’s held up great for a whole year with all types of weather.”
