I wanted to update my garden furniture – my £10 trick is unusual but looks brilliant, people would never know
A SAVVY woman has revealed how she updated her tatty garden furniture for a tenner with an unusual trick.
Valerie May shared her hack on Facebook and people couldn’t believe how well it worked.
Valerie shared her garden transformation to the Facebook group, Gardens on a budget, where she first spotted the hack.
She decided to give the idea a go herself to revamp her tatty, old outdoor cushions.
Valeria wrote: “Thank you to the person that suggested shower curtains to revamp tatty cushions brilliant idea and I copied!”
Instead of buying a new furniture set, the money-saver bagged some palm leaf printed shower curtains and cut them out to fit her cushions.
Valerie then pulled out her sewing machine and sewed the shower curtains into pillow cases.
Not only did they give her furniture a glow-up, it also meant the cushions were waterproof.
You can purchase a similar shower curtain for just £2.75 on Shein, meaning the hack can be done for less than a tenner.
The post soon went viral with over 1,000 likes and people were quick to share their thoughts in the comments section and praised Valerie for her DIY skills.
One person wrote: “Looks great.”
Another commented: “Looks fab how did you do it have they been sewn?”
Valeria replied: “Yes sewed them like a pillow case.”
“Oh what a great idea,” penned a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Love this idea,! Looks AWESOME!! I’m going to look for a pretty shower curtain to make a much needed cushion for my butterfly bench.”
“Looks fabulous,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “Very impressive, well done.”
