I created my own cheap privacy fence using fake ivy – all you need is zip ties, it looks natural
A HOME expert has shared how he created a DIY privacy fence for his backyard.
The content creator used fake ivy to spruce up his garden and decorate his trash cans.
TikTok user Sterling Wong (@sterlingwong) explained: “I wanted to add more privacy to my backyard as well as cover up some trash cans I didn’t want to see.”
In his video, the TikToker demonstrated how he used fake ivy and zip ties to achieve his goal.
“Now this is pretty awesome because they are actually sectional mats that are interconnected, which is neat. They look pretty real from afar,” Sterling told his followers.
He continued: ” You can’t see through it, which is nice. It’s very well covered, it has a nice 3D pattern to it that’s why I picked it.”
Sterling pointed out that the fence was still see through up close and would still allow plenty of light through.
“This covers my trash can fence very well and people can’t see in from the other side,” he said.
The influencer explained that he used zip ties to secure the fake ivy mats to his wrought iron fence.
While he described the fence as “green and plasticky up close,” Sterling showed viewers how realistic it looked from afar.
“I’m going to add some more ivy to coverup my entire fence. I’ll probably do a split level where the top part is ivy and the bottoms part is gray mesh,” he said.
The TikToker concluded: “It’s going to be pretty awesome and it looks pretty natural.”
