PHILLIP Schofield has been dropped as a patron of a children’s hospice after holding the position for more than 20 years.

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, who provide end-of-life care for minors and young people, confirmed that they were no longer working with the presenter.

However, the decision was said to not be linked to the recent controversies that surround Schofield, 61, but instead was due to him being “inactive” with the charity since 2019.

Although, according to the internet archive website, Wayback Machine, his most recent mention on their website was on April 2nd.

Then on May 8, he was removed from the next update – just days before his rumoured feud with This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby.

It was also a month after his brother Timothy Schofield was convinced of child sex offenses.

“Phillip Schofield has not been an active patron since 2019 and therefore his patronage was formally ended earlier this year.”

“The decision to stand down Phillip was part of our review of some of our longer-term inactive relationships.”

The charity runs hospices across Surrey and Schofield used to host an annual clay pigeon shoot which raised hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Schofield stepped down from his post of 21 years after he admitted that he had lied about having an affair with a teenage member of staff.

Yesterday he was also scrapped as an ambassador of the Prince’s Trust with the charity saying: “In light of his recent admissions, we have agreed that it is no longer appropriate to work together.”

He has also been dropped by his agent after he confessed to having the affair with the young staff member.

This comes after The Daily Mail reported that Schofield’s lover “received a financial settlement” after their affair ended.

The much younger runner was then moved to another ITV daytime show by bosses at the now crisis-engulfed corporation.

A source told the Daily Mail: “There have been numerous pay-offs at ITV and they have always had to be arranged and sanctioned by people of some seniority.”

The paper says the sum was handed to Phil’s toyboy after he declared his love for Schofield at an awards ceremony in January 2020.

Insiders at ITV said bosses at some level must have known about any payment as senior body have had to sign it off.

Phil, 61, was given his marching orders from This Morning last week after lying about the affair, which he described as “unwise but not illegal”.

The revelations saw the show catapulted into chaos – with Holly Willoughby’s future on This Morning now in doubt.

Last night, The Sun revealed Phil and his runner lover used a £1million flat next to ITV’s studios for “playtime”.

The loved-up pair would vanish “for hours” into the exclusive Helios Hotel adjacent to the White City studios in West London, a source said.

They added: “Phil and the runner were often seen leaving at around 3pm, two hours after filming on This Morning had ended.

“They would use the entrance through the hotel and stay for an hour or two. Phillip’s driver was always waiting for him outside.

“I asked one of the security guards why the driver was still here and he replied, ‘Well Phillip and that young runner are up in the apartment’.”

Last night former This Morning host Eamonn Holmes sensationally revealed that Phil would enjoy “playtime Thursdays” with his younger male lover.
