Fashion fans are calling for Primark to run in fear of Poundland saying it’s upped its game – but not everyone agrees
FASHION fans have long loved Primark for its cheap and cheerful but on trend buys.
But now some savvy shoppers are hailing Poundland the next big thing in the style world after spotting their summer range.
Social media is full of people praising Poundland’s increasingly popular collection called Pep & Co – with this season’s new-in selection flying off of the rails.
One impressed customer even went as far as saying that Primark should watch out, as Poundland were “giving Primark a run for their money.”
TikToker Maye Elise was among those shouting about the store after splashing out £40 on their clothes.
@mayeelisex explained: “Let me just tell you – game changer.”
She then went through her impressive haul, which included everything from a bright orange slogan jumper for £8 to £6 seamless leggings and a £4 matching crop top.
She then tried the matching pieces on and said: “This is them together – how cute.
“Perfect for summer and the material’s quite thick as well, I love it.”
Other items in her shopping bag included a bright pink seamless set for £12.
Modelling the flattering two-piece, she continued: “Stop it right now, are you seeing what I’m seeing?
“£12 for this beauty. Quality is amazing.
“They do it in green too but I wanted to see how they looked before I got the green – so you know I’m going to be back there getting the green.”
But Maye wasn’t the only Poundland customer who was gobsmacked with how good the budget store’s range was.
Fellow TikTok user Leah Macdonald, aka @leahmacdonaldx, also gave her followers a sneak peek of what they could expect.
And the Scottish social media fan told Primark to “watch out” as “Poundland were upping their game.”

In a recent video of hers, she showed how they’re currently stocking summer T-shirts, shorts, and dresses.
Plus, she spotted some amazing bargains including a bright green co-ord set and a selection of swimwear.
She described the clothing as “unreal”, before she added, “all so cheap too.”
However, others are less convinced and have argued that they don’t think Primark will have any problem keeping its crown.
Many suggested that their workout wear goes see-through and bobbly over time, while others said their local store never seems to have anything in.
But the majority of people fought back – with one even describing Poundland as “becoming much better than Primark.”
Another added: “I got the green set – unreal.”
While a third said: “I love Pep & Co clothes, they last as well considering the price.”
