Holly Willoughby shares cryptic message about ‘signs from the universe’ after This Morning return
HOLLY Willoughby has shared a cryptic message with fans about “signs from the universe” just hours after she addressed the Phillip Schofield scandal on This Morning.
The TV presenter, 42, sent her subscribers a story and interview about serendipity, chaos theory and the complexity of life.
Yesterday Holly returned to This Morning and in a carefully-worded statement mentioned her ex co-star by name only once.
Later that day, Holly shared a newsletter with her fans from her wellness site Wylde Moon.
One post read: “Are coincidences a secret message from the universe? Do you ever find yourself thinking, that’s weird timing or I can’t believe that’s just happened?
“Well, all those little coincidences that pepper everyday life could be the universe trying to send you a message.”
This was linked to a story which tried to explain what coincidences are.
It detailed: “Everyone loves a ‘Sliding Doors’ moment so we asked Matt Johnson, PhD, a neuroscientist, speaker and author who has explored the psychology of serendipity to tell us more.’
“According to Matt Johnson, there are some scientific ideas like Complexity Theory and Chaos Theory that suggest coincidences come about purely because life has become complicated and messy.”
It quoted Matt saying: “As humans we have a desire to seek meaning. We want to see the bigger picture.
“When there’s a set of circumstances that seems so improbable and so incredible that it couldn’t possibly have occurred just by chance, we tend to explain to ourselves that it must mean something, and that the universe must have conspired to put these things together because there’s no other explanation.
“Whether or not the universe did actually transpire… I think that’s up to anybody’s point of view or their spiritual explanations.
“But the general template is that the brain will seek some broader explanation and will infuse deeper meaning into that set of circumstances.”
Holly then leaves her fans with a hopeful quote: “Serendipity reminds us that life is full of surprises and that there’s always room for magic and meaning.
“So, let’s embrace the unexpected and allow serendipity to guide us on our journey.”
On Monday, Holly told viewers she felt let down after Phillip, 61, lied about his affair with a young show runner which led to him leaving ITV.
The presenter — just back from a break in Portugal and wearing a sleeveless white dress — touched fellow presenter Josie Gibson’s hand before speaking to viewers.
She said: “It feels very strange sitting here without Phil and I imagine you might be feeling a lot like I have — shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the well-being of people on all sides of what’s been going on, and full of questions.”
The host added: “You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.
“And it’s equally hard to see the toll that it’s taken on their own mental health.
“I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal for the health and well-being of everyone.
“I hope that as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.”
Holly was branded “cold” by some viewers afterwards.
But insiders said her statement showed how upset she was.
A source said: “This is the only time Holly will ever speak about Phil and what has happened.
“She still feels incredibly angry and upset by his actions and is very much still trying to get her head around it.
“It took a lot for Holly to compose herself and speak about what has gone on in the last few weeks.
“But people expecting her to sit and pour her heart out will be waiting for a long time.
“Holly is upset that Phil, who she believed to be a very close friend, lied to her about his affair.
“She is angry and that will take a long time for her to come to terms with.”
