UK weather: Brits to bask in 23C sunshine today… and it’s going to get even BETTER – making it hotter than Ibiza
BRITS are set to bask in 23C sunshine today with it expected to get even better – making it hotter than Ibiza.
The Met Office is forecasting more days of summer bliss as we look forward to the weekend.
Forecasting “another week of strong sunshine”, temperatures will reach 25C in some parts.
Tuesday morning will get off to a grey start with a chance of drizzle in some parts and single figure temperatures making it “chilly”.
But as we enter this afternoon, it’s expected to brighten up in the south of England.
London, Southampton and Plymouth will be around 21 and 22C, say the weather service.
And while it starts to feel warmer in those parts, people near the coast in Norwich, Hull and Newcastle, will only hit highs of around 13C.
Scotland isn’t far in front either, with it forecast to be 15C in the north.
From Wednesday onwards though, conditions are predicted to improve.
It will reach highs of 23C in the south of England with Glasgow just one degree lower.
The West Midlands and Manchester will hit 19C.
Thursday is forecast to really heat up with highs of 24C beaming down on Cardiff, say the Met Office.
And Friday could be hotter than the Spanish Island of Ibiza in parts of the country.
With highs of 25C expected for the capital of Wales, London will reach 24C – making it the same temperature as the party destination.
Ibiza will hit highs of 24C today before slightly dropping off to 23C on Wednesday.
The Midlands and the north of England will stay in the low 20s.
High pollen levels can also be expected along with high UV levels.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Paul Gundersen, said: “As with last week, the sunniest and warmest weather will be to the west of the UK with cooler, cloudier conditions persisting in the east for the next few days.
“The cloud will push inland across the country overnight, burning back to the east coast by day.
“Cloud amounts may vary day to day which will affect the feel of the weather in some areas.
“There is a small risk of an isolated shower across northern areas on Wednesday.
“The weather could become hotter, and more humid, possibly reaching mid-to high twenties Celsius in places, particularly in the south, by the weekend.
“This brings a risk of scattered showers or thunderstorms in the South West later on Friday and into Saturday, although such developments are currently somewhat uncertain.”
