Love Island’s Maya Jama shares her VERY unusual secret for de-puffing her face – and she swears by it when filming
SHE’S the Love Island host with skin so flawless that everyone’s dying to know her secrets.
And fans of Maya Jama will be overjoyed to find out that her self-confessed “best kept beauty secret” is free and easy.
The 28-year-old presenter de-puffs her face by submerging it in a bowl of ice.
The ice trick is an age-old beauty secret that started gaining popularity in recent years thanks to facialists, make-up artist’s and beauty buffs raving about it on social media.
From helping lock in serums and relieving the pain of a skin breakout, ice has become a secret weapon for many.
Maya’s main use for the technique is to reduce puffiness in her face.
“My best kept beauty secret is putting my face in a bowl of ice because it de-puffs,” she told The Face.
“Try it, you’ll thank me.”
The practice is particularly useful for her on the set of Love Island in Mallorca, Spain this summer.
Maya added that she couldn’t live without a powder puff on the dating show’s set.
“It can get hot on set and filming can sometimes last hours, so it’s good to have on hand for any extra shine,” she said.
Three layers of Rimmel’s Lasting Radiance concealer is her go-to when she has pulled an all-nighter, while Mario Badescu’s drying spot patches “work wonders” on her skin when she has a spot.
“A soft glam with a strong eye is my go-to,” she said about her ultimate date night make-up look.
“Eye liner is my favourite part of the makeup look and something I will always do myself if I can.
“So either that and smoky shadow, with a nude lip, or the complete opposite – something strong and bold like a red.”
Maya became the host of Love Island for its 2022 winter series.
She took over the role after Laura Whitmore quit the ITV2 show.
Before that she was the host of BBC Three’s Glow Up after taking over from Stacey Dooley.
Maya also fronted the first series of Channel 4’s The Circle alongside Alice Levine.
