Four adults are left stumped by a simple brain teaser but how long does it take you to clock the mistake?
IF you like TV shows like The 1% Club, you’ll be well practiced when it comes to riddles and word games.
But how will you fare with the latest brain teaser circulating on social media?
Evan Era shared a video of himself handing four other people a simple puzzle to solve.
Evan, who is on TikTok as @evaneramagic, showed how the ‘mistake riddle’ was handwritten.
On a background of white paper, it read “can you spot the mistake” in black writing.
Underneath was a selection of numbers, each one in a different bright colour from green to pink.
The man behind the camera then asked the other adults: “Can you spot the mistake?
“Alright, so see if you guys can figure this out.”
He added: “It’s a tough one.”
Evan then watched as the group gathered around in an attempt to get to the bottom of it.
Firstly, they slowly read out the text, concentrating on if there were any repeated words.
However, when they realised that it was spelt right and there was no repetition, they turned their attention to the number sequence underneath.
But, again, they came up with nothing when they figured out that the numbers were simply 9 – 0 in reverse order.
Another of their theories was that the colours could be the “colours of the rainbow” – but this again led them to a dead end.
Other guesses the group pondered over included whether it was suspect that everything was in capital letters, with no lower cases.
And by the end of the video, they were none the wiser, and were left scratching their heads.
Meanwhile, Evan asked his 2 million followers if they could crack the case – so do you know what the problem is?
Fellow social media users were quick to put forward their suggestions, and there seemed to be a runaway winner – and it was all to do with punctuation.
One person wrote: “No question mark.”
Another said: “Should be ? at the end of the sentence.”
While a third added: “The mistake is there is no question mark and it needs one due to the fact it’s a question and not a statement.”
