I bought a double decker bus & made it into a tiny family home – it has everything from a power shower to an air fryer
DOUBLE decker buses don’t exactly scream home sweet home, but one family has revealed how they’ve proved the opposite to be true.
That’s because the family of six has converted one into their new tiny home – and they couldn’t be happier with their decision to live in it full time.
Ever since they purchased the old school green bus, the family – made up of a mum, dad and their four kids – has been sharing their journey on social media via their profile @six_inabus.
And in one of their latest TikTok videos, they decided to give their 275.4k followers an access all area tour of the vehicle they call home.
And they showed that despite it being on the small side in comparison to other properties, it still has everything they need.
This includes a shower that the dad said was so “powerful”, as well as a fully equipped kitchen that has all the latest gadgets like an air fryer.
The tour began as the camera showed the double decker in its entirety, showing that from the outside it looks just like any other bus.
And while some of the vehicle’s original features are still in place, they showed that when you step inside, it’s got much more going on.
The entrance – where the drivers’ wheel is still in place – is decorated with plants.
But right around the corner the results of their makeover can be shown, as the living room area features a converted bus seat sofa.
The dad explained: “As you go down, you’ve got the original bus seat, some storage and the double doors open up into the food area and our reading area.”
The camera then captured what he was speaking about, as he showed a small table and chairs which acts as a dining area.
Meanwhile the reading corner is another converted bus seat with a blanket over the top and book shelves hanging above.
He then continued: “Over the other side we’ve got a TV and our electrics, more storage and into the bathroom.”
The man then opened the doors of the sliding door to the bathroom to show what was inside.
He explained: “A toilet, a wash basin and a rainfall shower.
“It’s absolutely powerful as hell – it’s absolutely mint.”
The tour then goes upstairs, with the original bus staircase decorated with various art work and film posters, including a quirky sign that reads: “Home is where we park it.”

The patriarch of the family then said: “Now we’re into the upstairs landing.
“From here, we’ve got lots of windows so it’s nice and airy, nice and bright.
“You go around to your left and you’ve got the double bedroom, which is mine and Nicole’s, [which is] nice and cosy.
“Then we’ve got four adult bunk bed size beds in the back for the kids.”
While the bedrooms are small and have minimal storage, he revealed there is a wardrobe in the hallway for them all to use.
Elsewhere, the kitchen has plenty of cupboard space under the surfaces.
He continued: “All storage underneath, so all the food, plus gas cooker and air fryer and our fridge is underneath the unit too.”
The dad-of-four then added then while it was a “simplistic” life, they loved it.
And their social media followers were in agreement, as they branded it “amazing” and “awesome.”
