Kate Garraway left red faced after ‘toe curling’ moment huge BBC star bursts in on her on the loo
KATE Garraway was left red faced after a ‘toe curling’ moment occurred while she was on the toilet.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 56, revealed that a huge BBC star burst in on her in arguably one of the most awkward places – the loo.
Kate was up very early this morning to get to the studio to start her radio show at 10am.
While waiting for her laptop to update, she decided to pop to the bathroom and she some how managed to fall asleep on the toilet.
Actor and comedian Alexander Armstrong, 53, opened the door while she was in there – which left her feeling very embarrassed.
Kate told her listeners: “I’ve had quite the morning! Got in super early to do some work before coming on air to do the show on Smooth and my laptop needed an update.
“You know those annoying updates that you can’t avoid? I thought I’d just close my eyes for a few seconds while it does that.
“Next thing I know, it’s hours later. I get up, rushed to the loo to wake myself up. Sitting there in a sleepy state, I forgot to lock the door!
“Then Alexander Armstrong from Classic FM bursts in. ‘Oh my god, Kate. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry!’
“Oh it was toe-curling! I haven’t faced him yet – he’s still on air. I was so embarrassed!”
Alexander shot to fame in the 90s and has appeared on our TVs in presenting AND non-presenting roles.
Last month Kate and her Good Morning Britain co-star Ben Shephard surprised fans by dramatically stopping the live show.
The presenting pair called a halt on proceedings to say an emotional goodbye to a colleague who was leaving, after 10 years working on the programme.
GMB hosts Kate and Ben, 48, were joined in the ITV studio this morning by presenter and correspondent Pip Tomson.
During her last instalment of the show, Ben gushed over his co-star Pip.
“We just want to say goodbye to one of the team who is leaving us,” he said. “The amazing Pip Tomson. How long have you been with us?”
Looking flustered, Pip replied: “I can’t speak, I didn’t know this was happening. Nearly ten years.”
“I’ve seen you go greyer and greyer,” Ben then joked, as laughter erupted in the studio from behind the cameras.
“Oh Pip we are really going to miss you, but we are excited for your new adventures,” Kate then gushed over the leaving star.
“You’re going to be a huge loss to us at team here, and me personally.”
