My hack to avoid strappy shoes giving you blisters – it’s NOT plasters & you’ll already have it in the cupboard
WE all know how painful it can be when you put on a new pair of shoes and walk away with blisters and sores.
But now one woman has shared her clever hack to stop shoes rubbing in the summer – and it’s all thanks to something you’ll already have at home.
Social media user Devin said she was so fed up with agonising blisters on her feet whenever she wore a pair of new strappy shoes that she decided to find a way to stop it.
The American said she “used to have to bring a full box of bandaids” out with her whenever she wore shoes for the first time, or in the heat.
But she eventually settled on something that was a total game changer and has worked for her time and time again.
Devin, who can be found via her TikTok profile @devinraimo, revealed: “Ok, so I have no idea if this is just common knowledge or not.
“But when I wear new sandal heels that I usually get blisters from, I put deodorant on the top of my feet where I normally would get blisters.
“And I never get blisters any more.”
Devin continued to her 166.1k followers: “I used to always ruin my shoes with my blood.
“And ever since I started doing this I could just wear any shoe – it’s really amazing.”
Encouraging others to follow in her footsteps, she said: “So, yeah, if you don’t do that, you should definitely give it a try in the summer.”
Devin later clarified in the comment section that she uses a regular stick deodorant, as opposed to spray.
And many of her followers said they were keen to try for themselves and make blisters a thing of the past.
One TikToker wrote: “Yes!!!! This is key.”
While others said they had also tried out different tricks to stop blisters from forming.
One person suggested: “You can do the same with lotion too and it works to prevent blisters.”
A second social media fan commented: “Try chafing gel too.”
As a third put forward: “Try it with the FAB anti chafe stick.”
Meanwhile, a fourth also had a recommendation when they typed: “I just ordered Foot Glide and it’s amazing. Pretty much like deodorant but meant for feet.”
