Springwatch viewers in hysterics over Chris Packham’s ‘dodgy antics’ as he makes x-rated joke
SPRINGWATCH host Chris Packham appeared to turn the air blue while demonstrating why snakes have forked tongues.
Chris, 62, was presenting the latest episode of the BBC2 nature show alongside co-star Michaela Strachan when he left viewers in hysterics.
Standing behind a wooden board emblazoned with a picture of a grass snake’s head, Chris told Michaela: “Would you peel off my face please?”
Revealing a hole in the board, he then said: “What I’m going to do, is I’m going to put my tongue through here and demonstrate how it works.
“My tongue would never be long enough, so I have another appendage which has been adapted.”
Chris then proceeded to use a long black glove and his hand to pretend to be the snake’s tongue.
Viewers at home were already chuckling at Chris’ choice of words when he went one stage further.
The wildlife expert reached down between his legs with his ‘snake tongue’ to show how snakes use two scent glands to sniff out food.
He then began frantically wiggling one of his ‘forked’ fingers around.
Springwatch fans couldn’t get enough of the scenes, with many sharing their amusement online.
One tweeted: “Bloody Hell, I was wondering what Chris Packham was going to poke through that hole!”
Another added: “That camera angle and the placement of where Chris’s hand was looked rather erm dodgy for a min there!”
A third chimed in: “Ooooh that looks dodgy Chris!”
And someone else simply wrote: “Steady on!”
Chris’ snake prop comes 24 hours after Springwatch viewers expressed their horror at a similar segment on Tuesday’s show.
He used a large board with a picture of a whale to demonstrate how the mammals poop.
But fans were left laughing at how basic the BBC prop was for such a popular and high budget television show.
