Home Alone star looks unrecognisable more than three decades after starring in hit film
HOME Alone star Catherine O’Hara looks unrecognisable 33 years on from starring in the much-loved Christmas flick.
The actress, who played Kevin McCallister’s desperate mum Kate in the original movie and the sequel, was spotted strolling around London with British actor Richard E. Grant.
Catherine, 69, looked stylish in a pair of striped monochrome trousers, a baby pink blazer and a polka dot blouse.
Catherine – who sported bright auburn hair in the classic festive films – looked very different with blonde locks.
She opted for minimal make-up and wore her tresses in a swept back ponytail, with a pair of glasses sitting on her head.
Logan star Richard, 66, looked trendy in a black plaid shirt, beige chinos and white trainers.
The duo were seen chatting away as they strolled through South Kensington on Wednesday evening.
The Canadian actress was seen gesturing and Richard looked in good spirits as he flashed a big smile.
Many fans will remember Catherine for her role in festive film which tells the story of a rambunctious eight-year-old who has to protect his house from two burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during the Christmas holidays.
Portrayed by Macaulay Culkin in 1990, the American actor quickly became a household name because of his antics in the film.
While Catherine has continued to have a successful acting career playing many an on-screen mum.
Catherine had previously played the absent step-mum Delia Deetz in 1988’s Beetlejuice but perhaps her most famous parental role has been Moira Rose in the sitcom Schitt’s Creek.
She appeared in 80 episodes of the sitcom, which ended in April 2020.
From 2009-2011 the Canadian voiced Jackie Martin in animated sitcom Glenn Martin, DDS.
The film star also won her first Emmy for the role in 2020.
Catherine married film and television director Bo Welch in 1992 and the pair have two sons together, Matthew and Luke.
