I felt under constant surveillance from my neighbors so I got a Home Depot privacy fence for $500 – but 1 wasn’t enough
AFTER her life was made hell by a nosy neighbor, one woman got her revenge by setting up a DIY privacy fence.
The TikTok user shared a video of the fence she put up to keep out prying eyes, and fans say they love her simple solution.
Claris Taveras (@athomewithclaris) demonstrated how she created the privacy fence out of a few simple items on social media.
She explained why she came up with the idea to build the DIY fence in the caption of a video she posted to TikTok.
She wrote: “Having such an open backyard sometimes makes you feel watched all the time, so this is my solution to have more privacy from the neighbors, one was not enough, so I ordered another one.”
BACKYARD OASIS
The DIY’er shared the products she used in a text overlay shown during the video.
Her material list included vines and fairy lights from Amazon and metal privacy screens from Home Depot.
She used two Home Depot screens to build the fence.
The woman shared some of her own personal mantras while she played the video showcasing the fence from different angles.
She said calmly: “I believe in blocking people. I believe in asking people to leave my home. I believe in unfriending toxic people.”
She added: “I believe in unfriending toxic people. Why? Because you’re not going to make me feel like s*** in my own space.”
Several people said they loved her simple solution and commented on the post.
One person said: “Love this! Do you mind sharing the cost? We’re planning a backyard wedding and are looking for something like this for privacy.”
A second person wrote: “I have a cement backyard that needs this fence.”
“I love it,” said a third.
A fourth person wrote: “Exactly! You will not intimidate me on MY property!!!”
