I love the gym – my former dates didn’t rate my commitment, people say my muscles will ‘scare men away’ but I don’t care
A GYM lover has called out her exes who’ve mansplained how she should work out.
The intimidated men didn’t appreciate her commitment and didn’t want her to be bulkier than them.
In her video, Tyen Rasif (@Tyenrasif) exposed the ridiculous theories her dates would tell her.
Though the caption read, “exercises women should not do,” Tyen performed all of them.
However, the misperceptions around each were “suggestions” her judgy boyfriends would give her.
“Inspired by actual advice I received from boys I’ve dated,” she admitted.
The first no-no exercise was chest presses. The guys thought it would make Tyen’s boobs smaller.
“No guy wants a girl with bigger arms than them,” they would tell her about bicep curls.
Shoulder presses were no good either because the men thought it would make Tyen look too manly.
And lateral raises would just scare boyfriend prospects away entirely.
Of course, regardless of what these men would say to her, Tyen continued working out how she wanted to.
An honest woman commented: “Every time [a] random dude at the gym told me I have to be careful about not building more muscle.
“I just got more pumped for bench and lateral raises.”
“The patriarchy is just scared of strong women,” one bothered viewer said.
A fellow gym girl wrote: “Thank you because I want my chest to shrink. Chest presses, here I come!!”
“Love all those exercises because I don’t work out for men but for me….and I know she actually advises to do that,” another agreed.
One inspired YouTube user admitted: “This is more motivational than people in my life telling me to work out.”
“When you date a man, not a boy, he gonna love it,” an intuitive follower commented.
