I’m midsize and did an Abercrombie swimwear haul – the gingham bikini top was barely hangin’ on
A MIDSIZE influencer has delivered her verdict on her Abercrombie swimwear haul, and there were some winners and some losers.
In her opinion, the sizing was all wrong for some of the bikinis and the gingham top was “barely hanging on.”
Sixtine (@sixtene) is a size 10 curve model with a huge following of over 802,000 and another whopping 28.4 million likes.
She regularly features swimsuit reviews on her TikTok – her “swimsuit series” – and this time it was the turn for Abercrombie to come under her radar.
“Today I’m going to be trying on Abercrombie,” she said. “[I] love Abercrombie. They’ve done a whole total brand re-haul, rebuild, whatever, in the last couple of years and I’m here for it.”
First up was a brown and white horizontal striped bikini, but the sizing wasn’t right.
“I honestly feel I could have gone down. These are large but there’s some wriggle room at the back.”
But there were some plus points too for this bikini. “I love this, super soft, the adjustable band, we love. We love that the bottoms are not too high-waisted. But we’ve got enough coverage. This is so cute.”
The orange gingham bikini didn’t fare so well.
“Size is such a funny thing,” she said, “because it is the exact same size as the last one and I feel significantly tighter in both. I’m not getting a medium in this and this is barely hanging on.”
Sixtene admitted that orange was not really her color, but she just wanted to see how it felt.
“This doesn’t feel as nice quality-wise as the other one, [but] I like this cutesy college-core gingham vibe we got going on.”
Next up came a hot pink two-piece and she liked it a lot. “She’s doing things, she’s cute,” she enthused.
“It has a good amount of coverage on both ends. I would go a little cheekier but that’s just me. This is cute. I like this a lot,” was her verdict.
Finally, it was the turn of the retro-like blue one-piece.
“You know I had to throw a blue one in here because apparently, that’s just my thing. It almost feels like a Speedo swimsuit to me,” she wrote.
“A little basic, I like the open back. I wish it was a little tighter here. She’s cute, she’s simple,” was her opinion.
She felt the brand did well, but could do better.
“I think they have a good amount of coverage but are still sexy, which is the whole point of the series.”
But there was a downside – it lacked “size inclusivity. “Most of their swimsuits only go to an XL on top and bottom. I think overall the quality could be better.”
In short, she said she was not going to “call home about it.”
Commenters had their own views.
“I really liked the orange on you,” said one.
While in conclusion, this fan thought there was a stand-out winner. “The pink looks gorgeous on you,” they said.
