I’m a dog rescuer and there’s a breed that should be illegal – they’re walking time bombs
AN ANIMAL rescuer has slammed breeders and buyers of a new breed of dog that “have miserable lives”.
Olivia Kay is an expert in pooches and has two of her own that she rescued.
But she has bashed those who enable the breeding of Exotic Bullies – a relatively new breed famed as miniature American Bullies.
The animal lover took to social media to share the breathing and physical difficulties faced by the small pooches, which she exposed people for buying as “fashion statements”.
The Exotic Bully is thought to have joined the dog kingdom in 2018 and has a similar stature to French Bulldogs but the appearance of American Bullies.
They are muscley dogs and their heads are much larger than their bodies, which are held up with stumpy legs that the breed can struggle to walk on.
Their noses are flat, similar to French Bulldogs, meaning most have breathing difficulties, Olivia said.
“F**k you if you buy these types of dogs,” she penned over a video of two Exotic Bullies. “There is no such thing as ethical breeding when it comes to ‘mini exotic bullies’.”
“Tell me this sounds normal,” she added. “These dogs can’t run, can’t walk normally, can’t be in the heat, can’t get too excited.
“These dogs have miserable lives.
“Dogs aren’t supposed to be built like this.”
In the clip, you can hear the mini pet gasping for air as it breathes.
“If you buy these dogs, you’re creating a demand,” Olivia said. “Which creates a profit.
“Which is why they keep getting f*****g bred.
“These poor dogs are nothing more than a fashion statement.
“Instead of subjecting an innocent dog whose only crime was having ‘designer’ genes to a life of suffering, buy a f*****g purse or belt instead.”
One vet revealed in the comments of Olivia’s TikTok video that exotic bullies are “walking time bombs”.
“I feel horrific whenever I see one in the clinic,” another vet added. “Never understood.”
“I almost cried hearing how they’re breathing,” someone else said. “I could never imagine my dogs having to go through this.”
