Devastated mum horrified after waking up to find five-week-old baby daughter Lily Moister dead next to her
A HEARTBROKEN mum has paid tribute to her “perfect” baby who died suddenly at just five weeks old.
Stephanie Moister fell asleep on the sofa with baby Lily in her arms, and tragically woke to find her newborn “unresponsive”.
The mum frantically phoned emergency services and her girl was rushed to hospital.
Sadly, she was could not be saved.
The horror unfolded at the family’s Manchester home in March 2021, and an inquest has now heard Lily’s death was “unascertained”.
Stephanie had been breastfeeding Lily around 11pm before tragedy struck.
The mum, who has five other young children, has now paid tribute to baby Lily.
MEN reported Stephanie said at her baby’s inquest: “There wasn’t a mark on her body. She was perfect.
“I looked after her like I did all the others. She was the perfect baby – I loved her so much.”
The mum added: “I did a video that day before she died – you should have heard me.
“I was very proud.”
Stephanie, who had four other girls at the time of Lily’s death, added: “I was dead proud. I thought they were like the Spice Girls.”
At Lily’s inquest experts referenced SUDC – Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood – and “possible” accidental “overlying”.
In the end they found Lily’s cause of death as “unascertained”.
