Eamonn Holmes swigs from the bottle on boozy trip to Ascot – but risks run-in with ITV boss
Eamonn Holmes was spotted drinking from a bottle of bubbly, as he narrowly avoided a run in with the ITV boss.
The broadcaster, 63, who has openly slated ITV, could be seen living it up at the Royal Ascot.
In a clip shared to Instagram, the TV personality could be seen donning a formal suit whilst jokingly sporting a yellow hat decorated with flowers.
Eamonn, who has publicly branded This Morning as “toxic”, didn’t seem to take himself too seriously, despite risking an awkward encounter with ITV boss Kevin Lygo – who also attended the star-studded event.
Filmed by Belfast-born ‘mum blogger’ Laura-Ann Barr, who swapped hats with Eamonn, the TV veteran could be seen drinking from the neck of a wine bottle, before sheepishly grinning at the camera.
He then mischievously greeted Laura-Ann and stated: “That’s a lovely hat you have there,” whilst being unable to disguise his smirk.
Eamonn then posed in the lemon-coloured hat, pouting toward the camera before the floral piece accidentally fell off his head.
Laura quipped in the caption: “That’s a wrap.”
Fans of the ITV legend flocked to the comments to praise their hilarious antics, with one stating: “That colour suits you.”
A second wrote: “New comedy duo.”
Another added: “A certain morning tv show could have its new pairing!”
Eamonn’s care-free demeanour came as a surprise, as he ran the risk of coming head to head with ITV managing director, Kevin.
The channel boss was seen attending the prestigious day and even stopping to pose for a selfie with Amanda Holden, Josie Gibson, Charlene White and Jonathan Ross – despite facing criticism over the Phillip Schofield affair scandal.
Just last week, Eamonn lashed out at the ITV boss after Kevin slammed the former This Morning host in a parliamentary committee.
Eamonn said on GB News this morning: “There’s a scene in a Few Good Men where Jack Nicholson shouts ‘you can’t handle the truth’. Well, I know the truth and I know what the truth is.
“I know what I know and they [ITV] don’t seem to know a lot. People take sides on these things whether it’s the Boris business or the Phillip Schofield business. But people can’t handle the truth.”
The former Friday presenter has also accused This Morning golden girl Holly Willoughby of being “distant” with the show’s crew and not even knowing their names.
