Donny van de Beek’s desperate bid to leave Man Utd takes new twist with ‘multiple clubs monitoring transfer situation’
MANCHESTER UNITED midfielder Donny van de Beek’s bid to leave the club has stepped up a gear, according to reports.
The Dutch international’s situation has peaked interest from multiple clubs monitoring the situation.
Big things were expected when United laid out £35million for Van De Beek back in the summer of 2020.
The midfielder played a pivotal role in Ajax’s run to the 2019-2020 Champions League semi-final, scoring the only goal in Ajax’s first leg 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
But the Dutchman, 26, has never got going at Old Trafford, scoring just twice in 60 appearances for the club.
And now Ten Hag appears to want him out this summer, despite the two years remaining on his contract.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Van de Beek “wants to play football” and understands he faces a lot of competition at Old Trafford.
Romano told GIVEMORESPORT: “The idea on the player’s side is to explore options, but it is not an easy situation because Donny van de Beek really loves Manchester United”.
The Red Devils are expecting plenty of enquiries to come in for the midfielder ahead of the new season.
It is understood that he could be off-loaded for £25million, while Eredivisie giants Ajax are keen to seal his return to the Johan Cruyff Arena.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Jose Mourinho’s Roma have also been offered the chance to sign Van de Beek.
However, the midfielder isn’t a priority at the moment for the Italian side.
Van de Beek is coming off a serious injury, which means he will have to prove his fitness to any club taking him on.
The Dutchman spent time out on loan at Everton in the 2021-22 season, where he also failed to make much impact.
Even a reunion with his former Ajax coach Ten Hag didn’t bring a change of fortunes.
He was afforded little game time before a serious knee injury ruled him out of the second half of last year’s campaign.
The Dutch international is expected to be one of several departures from Old Trafford as part of Erik ten Hag’s summer rebuild.
With Fred being put up for sale amid interest from Fulham, and Scott McTominay potentially being offered to West Ham as part-exchange for Declan Rice.
United also continue their pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, with their second bid rejected earlier this week.
