I’m a mum-of-6 & my home is cleaned daily without me lifting a finger or paying for help – here’s my fool-proof system
A MUM has revealed how she ensures her house is cleaned every day without paying a cleaner or doing all the work herself.
Savvy mum Sharon said she has found a clever way to nail getting her kids to do chores before and after work every day, all year round.
Her clip has racked up 50,000 likes from parents saying they would try out her “genius” plan.
On her @sharon.a.life account, the mum explained: “A few of you asked for the chore system I use for my six kids, here it is.
“This has been working for us for four years.
“Pick a chore for the kid and you’ve got to pick a chore that is actually essential to your day, something that actually matters.
“Then you pick a time that it needs to be done, not like an o’clock time but before you go to school or after you come home from school.
“Then that kid does that chore for an entire year.”
Sharon said her kids, who are aged 12, 10, nine, six, five, and two, have two daily chores, one before school and one after school.
She explained: “The morning chores are like check and check chores so like unload the dishwasher, wipe off the table, feed the cat, take out the trash.
“The afternoon chores are rooms, like designated rooms that they are in charge of cleaning up and vacuuming.”
Sharon explained why the system is “incredibly great”.
The mum continued: “There is no confusion over who is doing what chore and when, those things are figured out for an entire year.
“Second, the kids get really good at it, you don’t have to reteach the chore every single week.
“I just do it with them for that first week and then they can do it and they get good at it and they get fast.”
Sharon admitted the kids do complain every now and again about their chores but it’s “far less” than with her old system.
Parents were quick to weigh in with their thoughts.
One said: “As a single mom of four, I’d like to know where you were 25 years ago when I needed this!?! I’d still have all my hair.”
Another added: “You are simply my favourite person on TikTok.”
