Exploring Ternary Metal Sulfides as Electrocatalyst for Carbon Dioxide Reduction Reactions The empirical workflow developed using machine learning technique provides key design guidelines for uncharted family of materials

Titech.ac.jp

Novel workflow provides solid design guidelines for carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction electrocatalysts using ternary metal sulfide, report scientists from Tokyo Tech. By leveraging machine learning-based tools for elevating experimental data analysis, the proposed strategy helps researchers identify the trend of high electrocatalytic activity in uncharted material families. In turn, this could pave the way to more efficient CO2 reduction reactions, giving us an edge in our fight against global warming. Читать дальше...

Photonic topological phase transition achieved by material phase transition Promising for reconfigurable functional photonic integrated circuit technologies

Titech.ac.jp

A collaborating team of NTT Corporation (NTT) and Tokyo Institute of Technology (Prof. Masaya Notomi in Physics Department) has succeeded in achieving photonic topological phase transition by material phase transition by employing novel hybrid nanostructures consisting of a phase-change material and a semiconductor nanostructure.

Turning Glycerol into Gold: A New Process Makes Biodiesel More Profitable An electrooxidation process efficiently converts glycerol, a byproduct of biodiesel production, into high-value three-carbon compounds

Titech.ac.jp

An electrochemical process developed by researchers at Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), using sodium borate and a nickel-oxide catalyst, offers a promising solution for the valorization of glycerol, a low-value byproduct of biodiesel production. By manipulating borate-glycerol complex formation, this process enhances the selectivity and efficiency of glycerol electrooxidation, converting it into valuable three-carbon compounds such as dihydroxyacetone and glyceraldehyde, thereby enhancing... Breakthrough in Semiconductor Patterning: New Block Copolymer Achieves 7.6 nm Line Width

Titech.ac.jp

A recently developed block copolymer could help push the limits of integration and miniaturization in semiconductor manufacturing, report scientists in Tokyo Tech and TOK. Chemically tailored for reliable directed self-assembly, the proposed compound can arrange itself into perpendicular lamellar structures whose half-pitch width is less than 10 nanometers, outperforming conventional and widely used block copolymers.
