Premier League flop looks unrecognisable in Santa suit 26 years after huge transfer to Leeds

TIS the season to be jolly for one Premier League flop.

Twenty-six years after his £4.5million big money move to Leeds, Tomas Brolin looks unrecognisable as he dressed up as Santa to get into the festive spirit.

Brolin squeezed himself into Santa’s famous white fur-trimmed red jacket and also got the red hat to go with it.

Wife Marielle Larsson joined in with the fun and matched hubby Brolin with a coat and hat.

The former Sweden and Parma ace cut his playing career short at the tender age of 28 after struggling with injuries.

On the decision to retire, Brolin told FourFourTwo: “If you want to continue playing at a high level you’ve got to train every single day, but I wasn’t so keen to keep doing that.

“I had other projects in my head – when I stopped playing, an inventor came up to me with his new idea about vacuum cleaners and I opened that company.

“If by the December of that year I’d wanted to play again, I would have come back.

“But that feeling never came and now it’s 20 years ago.

“Everyone says 28 is young to retire, but it depends on what you’ve done in your 28 years as a footballer.

“I’d done quite a lot.”

But his working life wasn’t done after that. He got himself involved in the vacuum cleaner business.

Bolin and business partner Goran Edlund’s vacuum nozzle is apparently lighter, cheaper and more efficient than market rivals – making it a popular buy.

The Twinner, as it is called, sells more than 130,000 products each year, with the company worth millions of pounds.

It is for sale in the UK and across Europe and, after Twinner won a piracy battle against two rival firms a couple of years ago, only continues to grow.
