Chase Elliott out indefinitely after tibia surgery

NASCAR driver Chase Elliott is recovering from a three-hour surgery to repair a broken tibia, Hendrick Motorsports general manager Jeff Andrews confirmed Saturday.

There is no timeline for Elliott's return to action. He will be replaced by Josh Berry in the No. 9 Chevrolet for Sunday's Cup Series race in Las Vegas.

Elliott, 27, was injured in a snowboarding accident on Friday in Colorado.
