Pro-government assembly in Venezuela takes congress' powers

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuela's pro-government constitutional assembly took over the powers of the opposition-led congress Friday, dramatically escalating a standoff between President Nicolas Maduro and his political foes.
