The 28-year-old Yazidi has been documenting crimes against his community ever since the August 2014 attack. He is collecting data on as many victims as he can, gathering information on the men who were executed in groups... Читать дальше...

NBCSports.com

When you decline a $12.6 million player option to sign a minimum contract, you’re unpredictable. Can David West command more than the $1,551,659 he was due to make with the Spurs next season? Egypt Builds New Homes To Replace Crumbling Slums

International Business Times

Bayada Mohamed has left her old slum on a crumbling cliffside and moved into a new flat in a Cairo residential complex, making her among the first to benefit from a government plan to rehouse residents of Egypt's most dangerous slums. Like other residents of the Doueyka slum where homes have no running water and a rockslide killed about 130 people in 2008, Bayada's family has been offered a rental flat in the recently-opened Tahiya Misr development in the Moqattam area. A night of durable hits with Steely Dan and Steve Winwood

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

Steely Dan has outlasted the trends — from its days as soft-rock conquerors of the charts in the 1970s to unwitting captains of the ironic “yacht rock” revival in the early 2000s. Backed by a sizable live band, the musicians emphasize the jazz and R&B undertones of the songs, while years of road work have turned the studio boffins into natural showmen. Co-headliner Steve Winwood has decades of durable hits in his arsenal too, ranging from his 1980s solo staples to the blues- and soul-inspired... Читать дальше...

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

Every summer, families swarm the Vallejo waterfront for the Northern California Pirate Festival, a two-day event of costumed, themed activities meant to bring to life the Golden Age of piracy. Founded in 2007, the festival enters its 10th season this weekend with a lineup that features nautical musical acts — with Tom Lewis from England, a legend among sea chantey singers — as well as a tank of live “mermaids.” Other offerings include swordfighting lessons for the adults and a simulated cannon fight with the traditional wooden ship Nehemiah.
