De Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM) is verantwoordelijk voor immateriële schade van inwoners van het aardbevingsgebied en moet daarom een schadevergoeding betalen. Dat heeft de rechtbank in Assen vanmorgen besloten. Een gevolg van de uitspraak is dat dúizenden inwoners van het aardbevingsgebied nu bij de NAM om smartengeld kunnen vragen. ,,De weg is vrijgemaakt,'' zegt advocaat Pieter Huitema. Minister Henk Kamp (Economische Zaken) gaat de uitspraak naar eigen zeggen 'bestuderen'.
De NAM moet een deel van de 127 inwoners van het aardebevingsgebied een schadevergoeding betalen voor immateriële schade. Dat heeft de rechtbank in Groningen vanmorgen besloten. Hoe hoog het schadebedrag is en welke gedupeerden er precies voor in aanmerking komen, moet nog worden vastgesteld.
