Panic in Kogi as gunmen kidnap another judge
– A Customary Court of Appeal judge in Kogi state has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen
– The incident occurred along the Itakpe – Kuroko road while the judge was returning to Lokoja
– The remains of late police orderly who was killed has been deposited at the morgue

Isaq Momoh Jimoh Usman, a judge of the Customary Court of Appeal in Kogi state, has been kidnapped by suspected gunmen and his police orderly killed.
According to The Nation, the incident occurred along the Itakpe – Kuroko road on Sunday, June 12, while they were returning to Lokoja.

The judge was said to have travelled to his village over the weekend and was returning to Lokoja when the suspected gunmen stopped his car along the Okene – Itakpe bye pass raining bullets on the police orderly killing him on the spot while the driver sustained serious injuries from the gun shots before they whisked Usman to an unknown destination.
A source said that the late police orderly made to prevent the kidnappers from abducteding the judge when he was shot by one of the abductors, and his service pistol taken away.
The remains of late police orderly has been deposited at the morgue in an undisclosed hospital, and the driver is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Lokoja.
Saqeeb Saeed, the Kogi state ministry justice, information officer confirmed the incident.

This is coming a year after gunmen kidnapped Kogi High Court Judge, Justice Samuel Obayomi, and killed his orderly, Usman Musa.
Obayomi of the Ebogogo High Court in the Adavi local government area of Kogi was kidnapped while on his way to work. His driver, Ajayi Kolawole, said that the incident took place in front of the Executive Guest Villa in the Okene local government area of the state. He added that the gunmen opened fire and judge’s orderly was shot dead on the spot.
