Orlando shooting: GEJ under fire for ‘supporting’ homosexuals
Former president, Goodluck Jonathan has come under harsh criticism from a section of Nigerians for sympathizing with the people and government of the United States and Florida over a mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando on Sunday, June 11, which has left 50 people dead.
Some Nigerians have misconstrued the condolence message Jonathan sent to America over the Orlando killing as siding with homosexuals.
The former president in his message via his social media accounts, Facebook and Twitter, said the shooting incident at the gay nightclub in Orlando shows that terror respects no borders and happens to even the best prepared which is why we need global unity against it.

However a section of Nigerians have misconstrued the condolence message Jonathan sent to America over the Orlando killing as siding with homosexuals. Others faulted the former president for calling for tougher actions against terrorism on the grounds that he failed to rescue the Chibok girls who were kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents during his administration.
