On the worst night for the LGBT community in history when dozens were massacred in the worst atrocity since 9/11, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump tweets his followers to score brownie points for his tough anti-Muslim stance, forgetting to mention the victims. The gay community came under attack from two fronts. One was allegedly terror related with America-Muslim, FBI and ISIS involvement resulting in over a hundred people dead and injured in Orlando, Florida. The other significant event over the weekend was an alleged foiled attack on the LGBT community where thousands had gathered in Santa Monica for their annual festival and Gay Pride march in Los Angeles. Donald Trump and many others focus on their own agenda trying to associate with events for their own furtherance. To care about millions of Americans who could be gay is the work of humanitarians. To deal with their issues is the work of politicians and governments. To ignore their plight during the worst night in their history and talk about oneself is foolish selfishness, leading to ultimate disconnect with humanism.
