Illinois governor, lawmakers nearing budget deal

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner and Democrats in the General Assembly are nearing agreement on a plan to keep government open past Thursday's end of the fiscal year and ensure schools open in August, lawmakers said Wednesday.
