What to do on the Fourth of July weekend

Whether it’s fireworks, John Philip Sousa music, county fairs, parades or the annual San Francisco Mime Troupe’s show, there’s plenty to do this Fourth of July weekend in the Bay Area.

Antioch 4th of July Celebration Parade Live entertainment, car show, kids zone, prizes and fireworks. 11:30 a.m. Parade; 9:15 p.m. fireworks.

Benicia Picnic in the Park and Fireworks Parade, arts and crafts, food and drink vendors, children’s activities and more. 6:30 p.m. parade along First Street; Noon-7 p.m. street fair; Fireworks after dark over the water.

Blue and Gold Fireworks Cruises Departures from 8-8:40 p.m. from Piers 39 and 41; 8:30 p.m. departure from Tiburon Ferry Terminal. $85 individual; $300 and up for families.

Corte Madera 4th of July Parade and Festival 10:30 a.m. parade begins at Redwood High School, ending at Corte Madera Town Center; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. festival with live music, children’s activities, arts and crafts, food vendors and more at Corte Madera Town Park.

Diablo High School with live entertainment, children’s events, food and drink; 9 p.m. fireworks.

Cupertino 4th of July 9:30 a.m. flag raising; 10 a.m. children’s parade; 10:30-noon live music; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. free swimming; food trucks.

El Cerrito 4th of July Festival Live entertainment, children’s fun area, arts and crafts vendors, food and drink and more. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. July 4.

Foster City 4th of July Celebration 9 a.m. pancake breakfast, 11:30 a.m. Lions Club BBQ, live music from Noon-9:15 p.m.; arts and crafts vendors; carnival rides; 11 a.m. family dog parade; 1 p.m. veterans wall ceremony; 9:30 p.m. fireworks.

Golden Gate Opera A new historical Civil War Opera preceded by a walking tour and follwed by light refreshments. 1 p.m. July 3. $10-$200.

4th of July Spectacular 7:30 p.m. live music with Steve Tyrell and the Santa Rosa Symphony; 4:30 p.m. lawn festival with carnival games, children’s activities, food, love music and more.

Hornblower 4th of July Dinner Cruise Dinner, live entertainment, premium cocktail bar and bay views of fireworks. 6 p.m. boarding; cruse 7-11 p.m. July 4. $206.50.
