Jewelry slump, robot Wendy’s, Amazon fail

The sharp decline came a day after a Washington Post report revealed hundreds of employees had made sworn statements claiming widespread sexual harassment and discrimination in a long-running case that is in arbitration.

Wendy’s says it plans to install self-ordering kiosks at about 1,000 locations by the end of the year.

The kiosks are intended to appeal to younger customers and reduce labor costs, while allowing customers to circumvent long lines.

Wendy’s had already installed kiosks in some Ohio restaurants.

Amazon had a major outage that affected Slack, Quora and a host of other Web services — including, ironically enough, Down Detector, a website you might otherwise check to see if your favorite corner of the Internet is online.
