If Kevin Durant is out, Stephen Curry ready to be ‘next man up’

In the two games Durant has missed or been limited during the past week, Curry has totaled 52 points, nine assists, 12 rebounds and six steals.

During Tuesday’s 112-108 loss to the Wizards, in which Durant left after two minutes with a hyperextended left knee, Curry helped power the Warriors back from a 19-point first-half deficit.

After missing 14 straight three-point attempts dating to Monday’s win over the 76ers, Curry finally connected from beyond the arc early in the third quarter.

Besides the last two games, it is a shot I normally make.

Point guard Jose Calderon, who officially completed his buyout from the Lakers on Monday, is expected to sign with the Warriors after clearing waivers at 2 p.m. PST Wednesday.
