Anousheh Ansari, an Iranian-American engineer, accepted the award for Best Foreign Language film for The Salesman at the 89th Annual Academy Awards. The film’s director, Asghar Farhadi, chose not to attend in protest of Trump’s controversial executive order on immigration.
