Neighbors charged in 2016 killings of 8 Ohio family members

Investigators say they've finally solved a mystery over the killing of eight family members in rural Ohio. A husband, wife and their two adult sons who lived nearby were charged with aggravated murder Tuesday. In 2016, almost an entire family was found beaten and shot to death in a small town south of Columbus. David Begnaud reports.

Search crews in Northern California have found six more bodies, bringing the death toll from the Camp Fire to 48. A new lawsuit blames the fire on a major utility company, Pacific Gas and Electric, for allegedly failing to inspect and properly maintain its power lines. Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman trial underway in N.Y.

There was tight security in Brooklyn as lawyers for notorious Mexican drug lord Joaquín Guzman Loera -- otherwise known as "El Chapo" -- gave their opening statements Tuesday. Guzman has pleaded not guilty to charges that he amassed a multi-billion-dollar fortune smuggling tons of cocaine and other drugs in a vast supply chain that reached well north of the border. He faces a potential life sentence if convicted.

FBI finds hate crimes on the rise across the U.S.

Hate crime incidents targeting Jews and Jewish institutions in the U.S. spiked by about 37 percent between 2016 and 2017, according to data released Tuesday by the FBI. Overall, hate crimes based on race, ethnicity, religion or ancestry were the most common, making up about 80 percent of the total. CBS News' Mola Lenghi reports.

Amazon picks New York and Virginia for 2nd headquarters

Family of 4 arrested in grisly slayings of 8 people in rural Ohio

A family of four was arrested Tuesday in the gruesome slayings of eight people from another family in rural southern Ohio two years ago. Investigators said the suspects, the Wagner family, killed eight members of the Rhoden family, and that the motive may have involved a custody dispute.
