1 dead and 13 injured after semitrailer intentionally crashed into Texas public safety office

Authorities say a Texas semitrailer driver rammed a stolen 18-wheeler though the front a public safety building where his renewal for a commercial driver’s license had been rejected, killing one person and injuring 13 others. The intentional crash into the single-story brick building in a rural town outside of Houston Friday left debris in its wake. Boy, 13, among 4 teens charged in armed robberies on North Side

A 13-year-old boy was among three other teens facing armed robbery charges after being arrested early Friday morning in the Lakeview neighborhood, Chicago police said. Wheeling police investigate deaths after couple found dead Thursday after wellbeing check

Wheeling police are investigating the deaths of a couple who were discovered dead at a home after a call of a wellbeing check Thursday evening. Shortly before 5:45 p.m., officers responded to a wellbeing check at a residence in the 300 block of 12th Street after a call from a person who found two people dead after going to the home to check on them, officials said. Illinois lawmakers call for ban on intoxicating hemp products, but retailers call for regulations

Lawmakers joined the licensed cannabis industry Thursday in calling for a ban on intoxicating hemp products like Delta-8-THC, the retailers of which said would put them out of business. The Cannabis Business Association of Illinois, which represents large licensed marijuana companies, called for allowing regulated sales of non-intoxicating hemp products like CBD, but prohibiting sales of intoxicants until a committee can recommend how to proceed.
