Nonprofit hospitals account for almost 60% of all hospitals in the U.S., and are granted certain federal, state and local tax exemptions. Despite these lucrative tax breaks, data and other in-depth reporting reporting show that many of these nonprofits aren't acting so charitably on other levels.
