Juan Hernangomez: I can't picture myself returning to Europe

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

Juan Hernangomez: “I can’t picture myself returning (to Europe). It’s no disrespect to the ACB or the Euroleague, very much the opposite, I don’t see it as a step back in my career. But when they talk about Madrid, Barça, CSKA… I don’t care. I’m no supporter of any basketball team. I have spoken to nobody or signed any offer.”

Bobby Portis a lock to stay in Milwaukee?

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

Milwaukee’s Bobby Portis can become a free agent this offseason if he bypasses a $4.6 million player option for 2022-23, but there is already tangible resignation from some interested teams that they won’t have any shot at luring Portis away from the Bucks. The expectation already in circulation is that Portis will re-sign with Milwaukee on a multi-year deal even if he does opt for free agency.

Mavs not worried about Knicks hiring Jalen Brunson's dad

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

There is no grave concern bubbling (yet) in Dallas about the Knicks’ hiring of Jalen Brunson’s father Rick to join Tom Thibodeau’s coaching staff. It has been known throughout the league that Thibodeau has wanted Rick Brunson on his staff from the moment he joined the Knicks entering the 2020-21 season and not because it will help New York lure Rick’s son Jalen Brunson away from the Mavericks in free agency this summer.

NBA scout on Timberwolves: It's Anthony Edwards' team now

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

Another scout told HoopsHype, “It’s Ant’s team. It’s not KAT’s team, and KAT knows it. I think that’s the future for them. I wish his basketball IQ was a little better. He’s definitely a competitor and not the nonchalant guy that people thought he was coming out of college. For him to become that bonafide superstar, he has to have the basketball IQ. His defensive commitment has to be better. I think he’s already on his way to becoming a heck of a player. Will he become a top 10 or top 20 guy in the league? Читать дальше...

Quin Snyder on his way out from Utah?

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

David J. Smith. Good discussion about the Snyder situation. Tim MacMahon: “My informed speculation is that Quin Snyder is going to end up leaving… if that happens, the Jazz would be appreciative of that decision coming sooner than later.”

Knicks' hiring of Rick Brunson not tied to free-agent pursuit of Jalen Brunson?

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

One source said Thibodeau wanted him on the Knicks staff from the get-go, but there was concern from some in upper management about his controversial departure from Minnesota when he was reportedly was accused of harassment. Another league source said Brunson turned down the position because he wanted to wait until his son was settled on his second contract after being a second-round pick of Dallas in 2018.
