Tom Brady impressed with video of Anthony Edwards playing football

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

At this rate, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards could have three careers going at once. He made his acting debut in Netlfix’s Hustle — he was excellent, by the way. And this past week, he was showing off his arm on the football field. Even Tom Brady took notice. Edwards posted a couple videos on Wednesday of himself playing football at Georgia Tech’s practice field in Atlanta. He unleashed a beautiful deep pass and joked about joining the Falcons. He also made a nice catch on a deep ball. Читать дальше...

Kings eyeing Malik Monk

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

Jake Fischer on Malik Monk: It’s a very different situation than the Lakers, but I know that there’s mutual interest. The one team I’ve heard to look out for for him not to go to Lakers is the Sacramento Kings.

Grizzlies interested in Joe ingles

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

Jake Fischer on Joe Ingles: I wrote that there is belief Joe Ingles could go back to Portland. But today and tonight, I mean, it really does sound like he’s got several options closer to the full, mid-level, around 10 a year. And it seems like there’s a lot of interest from Memphis.

Hawks, Raptors and Nets options for Royce O'Neale

Jake Fischer on Royce O’Neal: I’ve definitely heard a lot of teams I’ve been interested in Royce O’Neale from Utah. The three teams I’ve heard the most consistent with, there have been Atlanta, Toronto and Brooklyn.

Kyrie Irving saga not over?

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

“When Kyrie announced he was opting in, I was like ‘okay, we can move on. This won’t be a thing,’ said Windhorst. “But that’s not what my phone was telling me. That’s not what the executives were telling me. That’s not what the agents were telling me. They are saying this ain’t over, because the Nets made it clear to everybody they did not want the status quo. If nothing else changed, they were not going to be happy. They were not sure if that this satisfied that situation.

Deandre Ayton free agency: Pacers a team to keep an eye on

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said on the most recent The Hoop Collective podcast that he would “keep an eye on Indiana” in regards to restricted free agent Deandre Ayton and that the Pacers were interested in a potential Ayton trade before last season’s February trade deadline (38:20 mark), though the Suns didn’t want to break up their core at the time.

Market for John Collins has dwindled down

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

Chris Kirschner on John Collins’ trade market: From talking with people since the draft, it seems like the market for Collins has decreased quite a bit. Now, I’m not really sure who’s interested in him… As it stands now for John, the market has definitely dwindled down for him. It’s not a possibility the Hawks just keep him. The Hawks aren’t going to just trade John for nothing. We’re talking about someone who’s a really good player.

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

The Lakers have a strong interest in retaining Monk, but it will depend on both his market and the quality of 3-and-D wings available to Los Angeles, according to league sources. Warren, Caleb Martin, Cody Martin, Mo Bamba and Danuel House Jr., according to multiple league sources.

Hawks were among teams monitoring Kevin Durant situation

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

While the Murray talks were evolving, sources say the Hawks were monitoring Brooklyn’s situation closely and – like so many other teams around the league – seriously preparing for the possibility that Nets star Kevin Durant might ask for a trade. While Kyrie Irving’s decision to opt in for the final year of his contract brought a quick end to the Durant chatter, the Hawks’ interest spoke volumes about the scope and urgency of their search.

Brian Windhorst: Dejounte Murray wasn't going to sign extension with San Antonio

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

However, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that the Spurs decided to part ways with Murray because it was inevitable that they’d lose the 25-year-old. “He and his agent, Rich Paul, made it known that he was not going to extend his contract with the Spurs this summer,” Windhorst said on The Hoop Collective podcast.

Lakers interested in Coby White?

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

The Lakers could also look to acquire players via trade, with rival executives believing Chicago’s Coby White could be a target. Moving Talen Horton-Tucker, a player whose ball-dominant skills are viewed by rival scouts as being redundant with the Lakers’ stars, could be a way to upgrade to suit the Lakers’ needs.
